Galleries:
The main feature of this approach is the Gallery structure which is easy to set up and easy to navigate.
Before you submit images for the web site please read this advice
Please note
- When you access a gallery, click on the first image to open the gallery
- Navigation is then possible through the gallery using the right and left chevrons
- Clicking on the first image opens the galley in full screen mode
- In full screen mode, clicking on the image returns you to the normal gallery view
- When in a sub-gallery there is no direct link back to the parent gallery BUT
- You can access this parent gallery from the drop down menu under gallery OR
- Access the parent gallery through the sitemap - link at the bottom of the page
- You can view each gallery as a slideshow by clicking on view slideshow - the titles are not visible in this mode
Each gallery is limited to 18 images per page and the main gallery pages are limited to 8 galleries per page; subsequent galleries are placed on a second or third page. Competition galleries will be placed first, members' galleries are arranged in alphabetical order of surname.
Each gallery will have a slideshow available (except where the titles are essential to the enjoyment of the gallery). Slideshows on the home page will normally be limited to images which have been successful in club competitions.
NB: All images are protected by a transparent foreground layer which makes copying the image more difficult and also the right click facility has been disabled. Nothing will protect an image totally but these measures make it more difficult and the small pixel size of each image also renders copying rather pointless. As a result I have decided not to apply a watermark to every image.

This page takes news in RSS format (Really Simple Syndicate) from five sources - Amateur Photographer, Photography Monthly, the British Journal of Photography, What Digital Camera and ePhotozine. If you are interested in a particular item, click it and a new window showing more details of the story will open. Close this window to return to the Photo News page.
You can filter out all but one of these sources using the filter box at the top of the page.
