Welcome to the Wetherby & District Camera club newsletter.


Our membership is up to 33 paid members with new members joining almost every month. Please introduce yourself to new members and help make them welcome.  Also, a special thank you to all those who brought items for the macro and table top photography night and we look forward to seeing the results in March..


We have four meetings scheduled in February 2018:


6th Feb 2018

Judging of Ingram 4, Sport, Action & Photo Journalism. The judge is Brian Hemsworth, CPAGB, APAGB.

13th Feb 2018

Judging of Sherburn & Dean Brothers Competition with an internal judge.


20th Feb 2018

Lecture -  “Fun with Topaz and Nik Silver Efex” by Christine Hodgson BA(Phot), ARPS, CPAGB. Silver Efex is part of the Nik software collection aquired by Google which is free now although Google have said they won’t support it anymore.



Christine was Syllabus Secretary for Normanton Camera Club and you can see some of her images on the West Cumbria Photo Group website. Christine is an active member of the YPU Executive Committee.

Finally, details of external competitions and discount offers




The Garden Rooms at Tennants is running its Amateur Photography Competition for the second year. 2018 entries are invited on the subject of ‘My Yorkshire’. You can find more information on their website. Winners receive a prize, the 30 finalists will be displayed in a 3 week long exhibition and the top 12 will be in their calendar. Entries must be submitted by the 8th May.
