Club News - Sept 2021

September Newsletter

Welcome to the New Season.

At last we can start our new season and we have reached a turning point in our Covid restricted approach to holding meetings. On 7th September we are recommencing holding meetings in the Church rooms.  Use of the rooms does mean there will be some restrictions for our safety, it is reassuring that the rooms have been operating successfully for the past 3 weeks.

With the notification of this newsletter you should have also received the Covid guidelines/rules  for using the Church rooms. Please read them and follow them for everyone’s benefit.  The actual meeting at the Church rooms will also be restricted to members the only guests will be judges and speakers.

For those members who are unable to join us then the meeting will, as an experiment be broadcast live on Zoom. We’ve never attempted such an event and there are a number of unknowns. However we have had a mini trial to see if the technology works, which it does but the organisation and presentation aspect will be challenging and may need refining as the session progresses. The success of this project will be subject to satisfactory wi-fi signal in the room [a recent test did reveal some weakness in the wi-fi network].

Will you be unable to attend the actual meetings ?

If so and you want to take advantage of the ZOOM arrangement, please contact the club via the info / contact page on the website (all the committee will see the messages  ). We can then advise you of the log in details and any other relevant info.
